The Emporium Kitchen & Wine Market

Sometimes restaurant fusions or mash-ups don’t always translate, but the Emporium is so beautifully laid out with all my favorite things, that it totally works for me. Equal parts French brasserie, American southern restaurant, cocktail bar, café, wine shop, gelato bar, and brunch spot...why would I ever leave?!

This visit was for brunch, and I tried to stay focused as I was escorted on a visually stimulating journey past a buffet of prepared foods which can be taken to go, a café and gelato bar on my right, a beautiful cocktail bar to my left, and into the dining room which has a view into the kitchen.

I kept it simple and ordered the eggs benedict accompanied by grits and grapefruit juice. The meal was delicious… not surprising given that their ingredients are all locally sourced and the restaurant won the Diner’s Choice award for Best New Restaurant in Savannah in 2018.

Fully appreciating all that the Emporium has to offer will take multiple trips, and I’m totally on board with that. Next on my list: their French inspired dinner menu...and wine bar...and gelato...

Insider Tip: If you only have one chance to visit and want to make the most of it, try sitting & eating in the restaurant, then going to the cafe for a coffee and sweet to go.
